- Gaza War and The Humanitarian Crises: Isreal is increase the incursion into the Rafah region of Gaza:
- Yemen’s Houthis will target all ships heading to Israel, group says: The group has threatened to extend their attacks on ships heading to Israeli ports to the Mediterranean Sea, in what they say is a campaign of solidarity with Palestinians during Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza.(Reuters)
- The Future of Gaza Strip: There’s a public disagreement among high-ranking Israeli officials regarding the future strategy for the Gaza Strip after the war. The Israeli defence minister has asked Prime Minister Netanyahu for a post-war strategy, while the IDF’s chief of staff has labeled the ongoing Israeli operations as a fruitless effort without a clear post-war plan.(ISW)
- Israeli tanks are advancing into residential zones of Rafah in an attempt to seize control of the city. The armed division of Hamas, al-Qassam Brigades, alleges to have destroyed an Israeli troop carrier using a Al-Yassin 105 anti-tank missile, resulting in several casualties and injuries, while the Israel Defense Forces maintain that they have neutralized several terrorists in the city. - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has issued a warning that Israel does not have a convincing strategy in place to safeguard the civilians in Rafah. (Reuters)

- China – US Relations: The US continues its efforts to maintain a competitive edge over China, which increasingly perceives US actions as hostile.

- The United States Intelligence Community warned of Sino-Russian military cooperation in East Asia. Russia is starting the development of a joint Sino-Russian lunar nuclear power plant. The PRC and Russia are also collaborating on the development of surveillance space capabilities that threaten US access to space and space-based capabilities.(ISW)
- U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping have planned discussions on AI safety risks following their autumn 2023 meeting. Senior officials from the U.S. and China will convene in Geneva to deliberate over the potential dangers of AI. The U.S. is striving to maintain its lead over China regarding the application of AI and weaponry systems. Plans are in place for the National Security Council to facilitate an idea exchange amongst its staff to tackle AI-associated risks.(GroundNews)
